One of the most difficult things for language teachers is to make the jump from newly-trained teacher to experienced professional. In the article accompanying this post (originally written as the introduction to a book writted for novice ESL/EFL teachers called The ELT Daily Journal by Hall Houston) I outline problems and issues that are commonly faced by newly-trained language teachers and suggest ways of overcoming them.
